Sri Lanka, Oct. 26 -- A suspect who allegedly attempted to assault a member of the junior staff at the Maskeliya Divisional Hospital has been placed in remand custody.

He was arrested yesterday (25) and produced before the Hatton Magistrate, who ordered him to be remanded until October 29.

The individual placed under remand custody is a resident of Maskeliya.

The incident occurred on the 23rd at approximately 11:00 PM, when the suspect allegedly entered the hospital while intoxicated, demanding treatment.

Allegedly, he then began to scold and attempted to assault a member of the junior staff who was in the hospital ward complex.
