Sri Lanka, Oct. 18 -- The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) arrested a suspect with a T-56 assault rifle and a cache of live ammunition during a raid conducted yesterday (October 17) afternoon in the Mamadala area of the Hungama Police Division.

Police reported that the raid was carried out based on information received by the FCID.

The items seized from the suspect's possession include: A T-56 assault rifle, 63 T-56 cartridges, two T-56 magazines, two 12-bore firearms, 25 12-bore cartridges, and 34 revolver cartridges.

The police also took custody of a lorry with a false compartment, suspected to have been used for transporting narcotics, and a cab used by the arrested individual.
