Sri Lanka, Aug. 23 -- A suspect was arrested along with 1,044.180 kilograms of cannabis valued at approximately Rs.73,780,000 during a special raid conducted in the Hambegamuwa area in Monaragala.

It is reported that this raid was conducted based on information received by officers of the Walana Central Anti-Vice Striking Unit.

Steps were taken to hand over the arrested suspect and the stock of cannabis to the Hambegamuwa Police Station for further legal proceedings, and further investigations regarding the incident are underway.
