Sri Lanka, Oct. 3 -- Authorities have arrested a man accused of defrauding a job seeker of 1.2 million rupees by falsely promising employment opportunities in Israel.

The arrest was executed by the Police Unit of the Special Investigations Division at the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE). According to bureau investigations, the suspect previously contested the last general election from the Kalutara District and falsely posed as a presidential coordinating secretary during the prior administration.
