Sri Lanka, Oct. 15 -- A suspect was arrested in the Homagama - Mawatagama area for defrauding people of money by claiming to post online advertisements for vehicle sales.

The arrest occurred during an investigation conducted by a team of officers from the Central Crimes Investigation Bureau, and the individual is a 21-year-old resident of Mawatagama.3

Investigations revealed that the suspect committed offences including criminal misappropriation, breach of trust, and cheating by impersonation by taking money after posting Facebook advertisements with promises to sell vehicles, without subsequently publishing the relevant advertisements
