Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- The Supreme Court has ordered two petitions filed by former minister Wimal Weerawansa and other parties, which seek to invalidate the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India for the digital identity card project, to be heard on October 17.
The petitions were called today (27 ) before a three-judge bench of the Supreme Court consisting of Chief Justice Prithip Padman Soorasena, Kumuduni Wickramasinghe, and Sampath Wijeratne.
The Solicitor General, Viraj Dayaratne, appearing for the Attorney General, informed the court that some respondents, including cabinet members, had not received the notices.
