Sri Lanka, Sept. 12 -- The Department of Meteorology issued a warning for strong winds and rough seas across the coastal areas from Hambantota to Pothuvil.

Wind speeds in these sea areas could increase up to 50 to 60 kilometres per hour.

Furthermore, the wave heights off the coast extending from Chilaw via Galle, Matara, and Hambantota to Pothuvil could rise between two to three metres.
