SriLankan flights caught in Gulf airspace crisis return safely
Sri Lanka, July 15 -- Two aircraft belonging to the SriLankan Airlines, bearing flight numbers UL-229 and UL-253, which were flying in the air for over an hour due to the closure of Kuwait's airspace amidst the Middle East war situation, were landed at Kuwait City and Dammam International Airports.
The Hiru airport correspondent stated that the aircraft landed after the airspace opened for a short period, and subsequently returned safely to the Katunayake airport this morning carrying the passengers back.
