Sri Lanka, Feb. 8 -- The Western Province North Crimes Division has arrested P. Udayarasa, the leader of the Sri Tamil Eelam Liberation Organisation (Sri TELO), for allegedly aiding and abetting large-scale drug traffickers.

The arrest, which took place on 4 February in the Kochchikade area of Negombo, follows a major narcotics bust in Ganemulla last month.

On 29 January, police conducted a raid in the Bollathe area of Ganemulla, where they seized over 4.4 kilograms of cocaine and approximately 3,450 psychotropic pills. The total street value of the narcotics is estimated to exceed 220 million rupees.
