Sri Lanka, Oct. 27 -- Sri Lanka's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, O.L. Ameer Ajwad, visited Sri Lankan national Anojan Sivarasa at Dammam Central Prison on October 26, following a Saudi Supreme Court decision to overturn his death sentence and order a fresh hearing.

According to a statement issued by the Sri Lankan Embassy in Riyadh, the Ambassador discussed the consular and legal assistance available to Sivarasa ahead of the upcoming court proceedings.

The discussions focused on ensuring that Sivarasa was adequately informed about the judicial process and understood the legal proceedings he would face.
