Sri Lanka, Nov. 6 -- Sri Lanka won the Luxury Food Destination of the Year award at the Travel & Taste Awards 2026 held in the United Kingdom.

Alex Crosley, chief organiser of the Travel & Taste Awards, presented the award at the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion stall during the World Travel Market exhibition in the United Kingdom, and Deputy Tourism Minister Professor Ruwan Ranasinghe received it on behalf of Sri Lanka.

A panel of experts in the field selects the winners of this awards ceremony, which presents awards for excellence in the food and tourism sectors across 17 categories.

Judges specially appreciated Sri Lanka's high-standard boutique hotel culture, diverse local cuisine, and unique flavours prepared using local ingredients. ...
