Sri Lanka, Oct. 5 -- Sri Lanka signed an agreement for a $35 million concessional loan from the Asian Development Bank, accompanied by a €15.4 million grant from the European Union equivalent to $16.94 million and a $5.5 million grant from the Japan Fund for the Joint Crediting Mechanism.

The Energy Ministry, working alongside Electricity Distribution Lanka Ltd. and Lanka Electricity Company Ltd., will implement the project from 2026 to 2030 to expand access to affordable clean energy.
