Sri Lanka, Sept. 19 -- Sri Lanka's third nano-satellite, named BIRDS-X Dragonfly, is scheduled to be deployed into orbit today (19).
The satellite was taken to the International Space Station last month by a NASA SPX-33 rocket mission.
According to Professor Chandana Jayaratne, Chairman of the Arthur C. Clarke Centre, the satellite is set to be released from the space station at 2:20 p.m. this afternoon.
This marks the third time a satellite created with the technical expertise of Sri Lankan engineers has been sent into space, following the launches of Ravana 1 in 2019 and Kitsune in 2022.
