Sri Lanka, Sept. 26 -- Sri Lanka's total tax revenue has reached Rs. 3,400 billion by the fourth week of September 2025, successfully surpassing the annual target.

This was announced in Parliament yesterday (25), by Minister Anil Jayantha, who further stated that the primary balance had exceeded its annual target by over Rs. 200 billion.

The Minister confirmed that the three main tax collection agencies, the Inland Revenue Department (IRD), Sri Lanka Customs, and the Excise Department, have collectively achieved the Rs. 3,400 billion figure.

Sri Lanka Customs reported the highest collection, garnering Rs. 1,679 billion, achieving 113% of its Rs. 1,485 billion target.
