Sri Lanka, Sept. 25 -- Global travel magazine Time Out has ranked Sri Lanka the number one destination to visit in October on its annual list of top travel spots.

The magazine highlighted the island's "a little bit of everything" appeal, from golden beaches and hill-country hikes to ancient ruins and wildlife safaris.

Turkiye was placed second on the list, while the United States' New Mexico was ranked third.
