Sri Lanka, April 14 -- The Sri Lanka hockey team arrived back in the country after winning the runner-up position at the Asian Games qualifying hockey tournament held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Sri Lankan men's hockey team defeated Bangladesh for the first time in 20 years during this tournament and qualified for the grand final for the first time.

This performance secured the Sri Lanka hockey team's qualification for the men's hockey event at the upcoming Asian Games.
