Sri Lanka, Aug. 12 -- According to Minister Nalinda Jayatissa, there are no satellites registered under the name of Sri Lanka with the International Telecommunication Union, or ITU.
The Minister made the statement at a Cabinet decision briefing today, the 12th of August. He said that the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka, or TRCSL, is the country's member body of the ITU. He added that while two geostationary orbital positions have been allocated to Sri Lanka, no satellite under the name 'Sri Lanka' is currently registered in those slots.
