Sri Lanka, Sept. 26 -- Sri Lanka could experience increased rainfall during October and November, with authorities advised to prepare for potential flooding, according to the Department of Meteorology.

An official from the department stated that forecasts indicate a rise in precipitation across the island over the next two months-a period when Sri Lanka frequently experiences flood conditions due to heightened activity in the Bay of Bengal.

Wetter weather is expected over the coming days, particularly in the southwestern parts of the country. Afternoon thunderstorms are also predicted to develop around September 28 to 29 and extend into October, bringing rain to areas that have recently experienced dry spells.
