Sri Lanka, March 7 -- Sri Lanka follows the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea concerning Iranian sailors currently within its borders.

Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath confirmed this stance while attending the 11th Raisina Dialogue in India.

The Minister emphasised that every nation bears the responsibility to rescue and provide humanitarian aid to those distressed at sea according to established maritime principles.
