Sri Lanka, Oct. 18 -- Special transport services have been deployed to facilitate the travel of the public heading to their hometowns for the Deepavali festival, which falls the day after tomorrow.

The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) stated that 75 additional buses have been deployed today from Pettah to areas including Hatton, Badulla, Nuwara Eliya, Maskeliya, Nanuoya, and Jaffna.

Furthermore, 73 additional buses will be deployed from Colombo to these areas tomorrow.

The Railway Department mentioned that regular train services will operate today and tomorrow.

In light of Deepvali, Tamil schools in the Uva, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Eastern provinces have been granted a holiday on the following day.
