Srilanka, April 5 -- New Year transport services are scheduled to commence this Thursday, the 09th, according to Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Chairman Sajeewa Kanagaratne.
Approximately 1,500 additional buses are deployed for this purpose, with operations planned from the Colombo Central Bus Stand to numerous destinations including Hatton, Badulla, Kandy, Bandarawela, Anuradhapura, Trincomalee, Jaffna, Chilaw, and Puttalam. Additionally, special SLTB New Year services will operate on expressways, with priority given to Galle and Matara destinations. The National Transport Commission also plans to start special holiday services next week.
