Son of former State Minister Shantha Bandara to be produced before court
Sri Lanka, July 22 -- The son of former State Minister Shantha Bandara, arrested in connection to the theft of Rs. 20 million belonging to a Chinese national, is scheduled to be produced before the Fort Magistrate's Court today (22).
Police said he was arrested when he arrived at the Kollupitiya Police Station yesterday (21) to give a statement.
The robbery took place on July 13 in Kollupitiya.
Two individuals, pretending to be police officers, arrived to inspect a Chinese national travelling in a motor car - at the time nearly Rs. 20 million were in the possesion of the Chinese national inside the vehicle, according to police.
