Sri Lanka, Aug. 15 -- Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekar stated that solutions will be provided expeditiously for the threats faced by fishermen engaged in deep-sea fishing from sea pirates.

Attention was focused on this during the Ampara District Fisheries Coordinating Committee meeting held yesterday (14).

Fisheries society representatives pointed out that the ministry must prepare an expeditious and permanent programme to control and completely eliminate the activities of sea pirates, which remain a major threat to them.
