Sri Lanka, July 19 -- Dengue deaths as well as rabies deaths could be prevented if people executed social responsibilities properly, Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government Minister Professor Chandana Abeyrathne states.

The Minister made these remarks while attending the opening of the second day of the 'Pet Expo Sri Lanka 2026' exhibition, which commenced yesterday (18) at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall in Colombo.

Health and Media Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa also attended the event.

Sri Lanka recorded 20 rabies deaths up to now, with four of those fatalities reported from the Puttalam District alone, Professor Chandana Abeyrathne further pointed out.
