Sri Lanka, Oct. 12 -- Small and medium-scale paddy mill owners have stated that they possess the capacity to supply rice that meets the standards expected by the government.

The local rice market has frequently faced various crises. Currently, a rice shortage is escalating again, driven by the insufficient quantity of paddy harvested in the country.

Rice producers note that the government previously imported rice on several occasions last year due to a shortage of Nadu rice.

They warn that the country is now facing a looming crisis with Keeri Samba rice.
