Sri Lanka, Sept. 24 -- Sri Lanka's Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath held bilateral discussions with India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in the United States.

The meeting was held to reaffirm the strong friendship and close cooperation between the two nations.

In a post on X, Minister Herath has stated that he met with his Indian counterpart to reaffirm the strong friendship.

Minister Jaishankar also posted on the meeting on X, stating it was a pleasure to meet the Sri Lankan Foreign Minister and that they reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
