Sri Lanka, Aug. 17 -- Six individuals, who were reportedly associates of former Eastern Province Chief Minister Sivanesathurai Santhirakanthan, also known as Pillayan, are to be arrested.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has already launched an investigation.

The six suspects are reported to have been gunmen who served under Sivanesathurai Santhirakanthan.

They face charges related to kidnappings, disappearances, and shootings that occurred in the Eastern Province.
