Sri Lanka, Sept. 12 -- The Department of Meteorology says a few showers can be expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Elsewhere, showers or thundershowers will occur in a few places in the Northern, Eastern, and Uva provinces after 1:00 PM.

Some areas may experience fairly heavy rainfall of around 50 millimetres.

The public is kindly requested to take necessary precautions to minimise accidents from temporary strong winds and lightning.
