Sri Lanka, June 24 -- Several spells of rain may occur today in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Northwestern provinces, and Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts

The Department of Meteorology announced in a statement that several rounds of rain may occur today (24), in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2:00 p.m.

The statement noted that fairly strong winds blowing at times up to 30-40 kilometres per hour may occur on the western slopes of the central hills, and in the Northern, North-Central, North-Western, and Southern provin...
