Several Kelani Valley train services cancelled due to engine shortage
Sri Lanka, Sept. 1 -- The Railway Station Masters' Association states that several train services on the Kelani Valley line have been cancelled due to the lack of a power set and a locomotive engine.
According to the association, the train scheduled to operate from Avissawella to Colombo Fort at 5:55 am and the train scheduled to depart from Colombo Fort to Avissawella at 4:00 pm were cancelled yesterday (31) and today (01).
In addition, two trips of the parcel transport train operating on the Main Line were also cancelled yesterday due to the lack of an engine to deploy for the service.
Meanwhile, construction work on the Maggona double railway bridge in Kalutara commenced yesterday under the coastal railway line development project....
