Sri Lanka, Sept. 23 -- The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning that the sea areas off the coast from Galle to Matara and Pottuvil via Hambantota will be rough or very rough at times, with wind speeds occasionally increasing to 55-60 km/h.
The department also noted that the sea areas off the coast from Chilaw to Mannar and Kankasanthurai could also be rough at times, with wind speeds reaching 50-60 km/h.
Furthermore, there is a possibility that sea waves in the coastal areas from Negombo to Galle, Matara, Hambantota, and Pottuvil could rise to a height of 2.5 to 3.0 meters. This could also lead to sea waves reaching the land in these areas.
