Sri Lanka, Sept. 23 -- A schoolgirl passed away today (23) after a gas transport truck collided with a motorcycle on the Pasyala-Giriulla road.

The girl, a 17-year-old from Navagamuwa, Nittambuwa, was an Advanced Level student at a school in the Mirigama area.

According to police, the girl was getting on a parked motorcycle to travel towards Pasyala.

The incident occurred when the driver of the motorcycle started the engine and turned the vehicle to join the main road.

The gas truck hit the motorcycle, and the girl was thrown from the bike and was run over by the truck's wheel.
