Sri Lanka, Oct. 24 -- A satyagraha launched by a group of Maha Sangha at Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo, demanding the release of Venerable Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thera, General Secretary of the Bodu Bala Sena, who is serving a prison sentence, entered its ninth day today (24).

Meanwhile, Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama ruled yesterday that an order directing the monks participating in the satyagraha at Viharamahadevi Park to leave the premises could not be changed.

The Magistrate made the ruling after considering a motion filed by the monks seeking to have the order revoked.
