Sabaragamuwa University expels 11 students over fatal ragging incident
Sri Lanka, Oct. 7 -- The Governing Council of Sabaragamuwa University decided to expel 11 students following allegations that a ragging incident led to the death of 23-year-old Charith Dilishan, a second-year student at the Faculty of Technology.
The Governing Council of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka released the official inquiry report last week regarding serious disciplinary offences involving harassment as well as physical and psychological threats against the deceased student and other students.
According to the decision, the registration of these students as students of Sabaragamuwa University is permanently cancelled, and they will no longer hold any rights or privileges of an internal student.
