Sri Lanka, Oct. 22 -- The Chief Government Whip and Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayathissa, stated in Parliament yesterday (21) that a sum of Rs. 183.8 billion has been allocated to meet the country's pharmaceutical requirements for 2025.
The announcement was made in response to a question raised by Parliamentarian S. M. Marikkar.
The funds are intended for the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation (SPC) and other affiliated institutions to supply the local population.
The allocation includes Rs. 90 billion for the SPC, Rs. 7.7 billion for the Allied Institutions Project, Rs. 30 billion for the Pharmaceuticals Statutory Corporation, Rs. 20 billion for emergency situations, and Rs. 200 million for the local medicine secto...
