Sri Lanka, Feb. 9 -- The money laundering case against Yoshitha Rajapaksa and Daisy Forrest will be recalled on April 24, following an order by the Colombo High Court today (9).
The Attorney General filed the case alleging that the defendants violated the Prevention of Money Laundering Act by depositing over Rs. 59 million, obtained through undisclosed means, into three private bank fixed deposits between 2009 and 2013.
State Counsel Oswald Perera informed High Court Judge Rashmi Singappuli that the specialist medical report regarding Daisy Forrest's mental fitness to stand trial remains outstanding.
The court called for this report through the Colombo Judicial Medical Officer to determine if she is fit to undergo legal proceedings.
