Sri Lanka, Feb. 16 -- A notable increase in rainy weather is anticipated across several provinces starting tomorrow (17) and continuing over the next few days, according to the Department of Meteorology.

Intermittent showers may occur in the Northern, North-Central, Central, Uva, and Eastern provinces, as well as the Hambantota district, based on the latest forecast issued at 2:00 PM today (16). Heavy rains exceeding 100 mm are likely in certain areas within the Central, Uva, and Eastern provinces, and the Polonnaruwa district.

Showers or thundershowers may develop in other parts of the island after 1:00 PM, with some locations potentially receiving fairly heavy falls of approximately 75 mm.
