Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- The Department of Meteorology forecasts that showers may occur from time to time today (25) in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North Western provinces, as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts,

Fairly heavy rain above 75 mm can also occur in some places.

A few showers may occur in the Anuradhapura, Matale, and Hambantota districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Ampara, Monaragala, and Batticaloa districts after 2:00 pm.

Mainly dry weather prevails in the remaining areas of the island.
