Sri Lanka, Dec. 21 -- The government is expanding the Ticket Refund facility which is currently limited to Colombo Fort and Maradana, to several major up-country stations starting 25 December.

From Christmas Day, passengers can claim refunds at:

Badulla

Ella

Bandarawela

Haputale

Nanu Oya

Hatton

Additionally, a pilot project will launch on the same day at the Anuradhapura, Jaffna, and Batticaloa railway stations.

The Kandy station is slated to join the list in January.

This expansion is particularly timely given the chaos caused by Cyclone Ditwah, which forced the cancellation of numerous train services.
