Sri Lanka, Oct. 14 -- The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) announced today (14) that it has unanimously decided to reject the proposal by the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) to increase electricity tariffs by 6.8 %.
Accordingly, the Chairman of the PUCSL, Professor K. P. L. Chandralal, stated that the existing electricity tariffs will remain unchanged for the next three months of 2025.
The Commission cited several main reasons for the rejection, with Professor Chandralal emphasising that the decision is interconnected with the overall economy.
