Sri Lanka, Oct. 23 -- The satyagraha conducted by a group including monks at Viharamahadevi Park in Colombo, demanding the release of Ven. Galagoda Aththe Gnanasara Thero, continues for its eighth day today.

Meanwhile, police officers who arrived at the site last night announced to the monks participating in the satyagraha to refrain from remaining at the location.

This was in accordance with a court order obtained by the Cinnamon Gardens Police.

A tense situation arose at the location where the satyagraha was taking place at that time.
