Sri Lanka, Aug. 4 -- An investigation has been launched to determine whether an external conspiracy was behind the violent clash that occurred at the Mahara Prison, Justice Minister Harshana Nanayakkara told Parliament today (04).

Making a special statement regarding this incident, the Minister stated that information was received regarding an attempt to create similar clashes in several other prisons.

Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa directed several questions to the ruling party in Parliament today regarding the proposal to increase the retirement age of judges, and the Justice Minister provided answers to them.
