Sri Lanka, Oct. 4 -- Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Ananda Wijepala, announced that investigations are underway using 31 mobile phones recovered from the arrested alleged underworld figures, including Kehelbaddara Padme.

The findings from the data will be reported to the courts.

The Minister stressed that if the examinations of the 31 mobile phones reveal information about individuals who maintained links with the alleged underworld gang members, action will be taken against them without regard to their status.

He specifically noted that if any politicians are implicated, the law will be applied against them without discrimination.
