Sri Lanka, Aug. 24 -- Police are continuing their investigation into a retired major general and five others who were arrested yesterday (23) in connection with an alleged treasure hunt.
According to police, a special investigation is underway based on the statements of several children who claim to have witnessed the incident.
The children told police that yesterday afternoon, while they were flying kites on the land, they saw a group bring a 17-year-old girl to the site and hold a knife to her throat. Based on this testimony, police are investigating whether the girl was intended to be a human sacrifice for the treasure hunt.
