Sri Lanka, Oct. 19 -- Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya has stated that the India-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement (FTA) needs to be improved.

Addressing a summit in New Delhi, India, the Prime Minister noted that the security of the Indian Ocean is equally important to both nations.

Prime Minister Amarasuriya received a warm welcome at the summit, which was also attended by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Prime Minister concluded her official visit to India and returned to the island last night (October 18).
