Sri Lanka, Oct. 1 -- Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education, and Vocational Education Dr. Harini Amarasuriya stated that the balancing of teacher and principal transfers must be expedited.
Further commenting on the issue during a Ministry Consultative Committee meeting, the Prime Minister noted that refusing transfers has been a long-standing practice in the education sector, making it the only sector in the public service that does not adhere to transfers.
The committee also discussed actions to be taken regarding teachers and principals who do not comply with such transfers.
