Sri Lanka, Sept. 25 -- The Presidential Secretariat has once again rejected an information request concerning President Anura Kumara Dissanayake's domestic travel and accommodation costs.
The appeal was made by YouTuber Jinath Premaratne, who had sought the information under the Right to Information Act.
The Designated Officer at the Secretariat affirmed the initial decision by the Information Officer, who had rejected the request under Section 5(1)(b)(i) of the RTI Act.
This section allows for the withholding of information related to security-sensitive matters.
The YouTuber had argued that the request was for financial data, such as total costs and location breakdowns, and would not compromise the President's security.
