Sri Lanka, July 28 -- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake arrived at Velana International Airport in the Maldives this morning (28), commencing his state visit.

He was warmly received by Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu amidst a guard of honour from the Maldivian National Defence Force.

At the VIP arrival terminal of Velana International Airport, a group of young girls performed a cultural dance to welcome the President, who engaged in a brief conversation with them.

The official welcoming ceremony for President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, presided over by Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, is scheduled to take place this afternoon at Republic Square in Male, the capital of the Maldives.
