Sri Lanka, Sept. 30 -- Former State Minister Prasanna Ranaweera was granted bail today (30) based on an order from the Gampaha High Court.

The former State Minister's bail application was reconsidered on charges that he forged deeds and sold state-owned land.

Lawyers appearing for Prasanna Ranaweera made submissions to the High Court requesting bail.

After considering the facts presented, the Gampaha High Court Judge ordered the release of the two suspects, Prasanna Ranaweera and Sarath Edirisinghe, under strict bail conditions.

These conditions for each suspect include one cash bail of Rs. 500,000 and five surety bonds of Rs. 500,000 each.
