Sri Lanka, Aug. 25 -- A three-member medical board of specialist forensic doctors is scheduled to conduct a post-mortem examination today into the death of a mother who passed away after a surgery at a private hospital. The examination was ordered by Galle Magistrate Isuru Nettikumara.

The deceased, 46-year-old Sewwandi Ilamperuma from Meepawala, Galle, was reportedly admitted to the private hospital in Himburala for abdominal pain. A gynaecologist allegedly advised that her uterus needed to be removed to treat an ovarian cyst. After the surgery, she returned home but was readmitted after her condition worsened.
